Here’s where I think technology stinks. We’re at the point where we can get almost everything we need and want from the screen in front of us. We can pay bills, talk to friends, read books — without actually coming face to face with another person. How convenient. And utterly depressing. Libraries seem like throwbacks in today’s world — ‘Oh yeah, that place with all the books — actual books with pages.’ I don’t know many people who still go to libraries with any regularity. But because of two guys up north, a different kind of old school library is alive and well and spreading — bringing people face to face. Imagine that. Revoluntionary. Many thanks to my brilliant photographer and the man who brought me this idea, Steve Flood.
